Description

Piston bearing is molded with 33% heat stabilized, glass reinforced Nylon 66. The design of the Piston bearing is a “t-shape” cross section which allows full bearing contact while also offering the advantage of a t-groove form of retention that does not require side land near the working surface of the wear band. Piston bearing is typically used in telescopic cylinder applications. It is not suitablefor use in applications where water based fluids are used, nor is it suitable in applications where significant water is present, due to the swell of the nylon.

O-RING/X-RING

X-RING

Description

X-rings are twin-action 4-lipped seals with an almost square cross-section profile. The X-rings achieves its sealing effect by being installed and compressed within an axial or radial installation housing. Under operating conditions, the pressure of the medium reinforces the sealing function. * A high degree of stability for dynamic application, as the X-ring is not susceptible to rolling within the groove (twisting) due to its almost square cross-section. X-rings require a lower degree of radial pretensioning. This gives rise to less abrasion due to the lower contact pressures in play. It is possible for a lubricant reservoir to be created between the sealing lips. Optimised sealing effect due to superior distribution of pressure over the almost square cross-section. No adverse effect created by the mould-separation ridge as unlike the O-ring, this is not located at the outer diameter but between the actual sealing lips.

Description

The Z5 pneumatic piston seal is a double U-ring with an integral guiding surface for double-acting pistons. The seal has two sealing lips for particularly high sealing performance. • Due to application-optimized geometry and compounds suitable for use in oiled as well as in oil-free air (after initial lubrication on assembly). • Multi-functional sealing element. The guiding area at the sealing element performs the guiding function in the cylinder. However, due to its geometry the sealing element is not suitable for absorption of high radial forces or long strokes. • Prevents metallic contact between the piston and cylinder. Ideal for light-metal and plastic cylinders (ridging). • Good wear resistance. • Smooth running due to optimum lubricant-retaining sealing lip geometry. • Easier installation. • Assembly on one-part piston is possible. • High temperature resistance in case of suitable compound selection. • Excellent media resistance in case of suitable compound selection. • Installation in open housings with retaining collar.
